My name is Mochamad Hadiyana. My nickname is Asep or Hadi. I was born and grew up in Bandung, Tanah Sunda (or West Java Province), Indonesia. I went to SD Negeri Garuda 1 Bandung (elementary school) for six years, SMP Negeri 25 Bandung (junior high school) for three years, and SMA Negeri 4 Bandung (senior high school) for three years. In 1993, I obtained a bachelor degree (Insinyur) with a major in engineering physics from the Department of Engineering Physics, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Institute of Technology of Bandung.
I worked for Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications (MTPT) of Republic of Indonesia from 1993 to 1997. (The MTPT has been excluded from ministrial cabinet since the early of 1998; its tourism regulating function was assigned to the new established Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture, meanwhile its post and telecommunications regulating functions were transfered to the Ministry of Transportation). The main function of the Planning Bureau of MTPT was to plan routine and development programs of tourism, post and telecommunications. I was involved in planning routine program of telecommunications mainly in setting telephone tariff.
On December 17, 1998, I got a master degree in management of technology from School of Engineering of Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
